internship internship internship.

My dream internship came true.

I'm working at Random House Publishing, most likely in the marketing/publicity department, by arranging author visits for different events.

But more importantly, that means 1) I get to see this beautiful sight every Wednesday:

As soon as I walk in! It's pretty flipping amazing.
All of my nerdy library dreams have come true, but not only am I 2) working in New York, New York, I get to 3) work with my good friend Ben Miller :) and 4) possibly meet some of my favorite authors?! and 5)

GET FREE BOOKS.

I know! My favorite internship of all time. Apparently, publishers have tons of books, so many in fact that they just give them out, and I took home around 6 or 7 good ones :)

Oh and Ben and I might go to Comic Con as volunteers! Which would be pretty freaking cool to go and maybe meet famous people?! For Ben that would be comic book writers, but for me it would be TV show stars like Big Bang Theory, Psych, Glee?!

Sorry for the complete abuse of punctuation, but I am ecstatic :)
Thank you thank you God, thank you thank you thank you.

so cohesiveness is not one of the strong points of this blog..

i've realized that there aren't very many connections that can be made
from blog posts from the way past, to the future,
other than that they are written by me.

and although having a random blog to read from might be fun and interesting,
i confess, i'd like to be taken a bit more seriously.

reading back on past posts, i find myself remembering things that i had forgotten i had posted,
and i don't want this to be like a oh-i-forget-everything-i-learn-in-math-after-i-take-a-test-on-it kind of situation,
because a) i very much like the things i find, such as quotes and words and b) i'd like to remember them.

so although there is, at least not to my knowledge, no unifying theme in my life (especially apparent as i attempt to write the story of my life to colleges in 800 words or less), i will endeavor to create one in this blog.

suggestions?

always and truly yours, although i may not seem to always be there, trust me, i haven't forgotten,

no, i have not abandoned my blog

college apps heinously abducted me and prevented me from contacting all you lovely people

but rest assured, every time my inbox got a crazy word like
hobbledehoy,
i automatically thought of you :)

to tide you over until i can get a hold of some consistency,

 1
hobbledehoy \HOB-uhl-dee-hoy\, noun:
An awkward, gawky young fellow.

(
i just love that there's a specific word for it.)

frabjous \FRAB-juhs\, adjective:
Wonderful, elegant, superb, or delicious.

(
it just doesn't sound like it means)

Brobdingnagian \brob-ding-NAG-ee-uhn\, adjective:
Of extraordinary size; gigantic; enormous.

(i haven't put this one up yet??)

imago \ih-MAH-goh\, noun:

1. An idealized concept of a loved one, formed in childhood and retained unaltered in adult life.
2. Entomology. An adult insect.

(mm something about the double meaning of this word, there's a joke somewhere..)

subaudition \suhb-aw-DISH-uhn\, noun:

An act or instance of understanding or mentally supplying something not expressed.

(the word itself is completely specific and unexpected, i like it.)
